Further to my email yesterday (Wed 8th) please find details below for Friday 17th July @ 7.30pm.   Please don’t confuse this with our regular WICEN Zoom meetings @ 8.00pm each Thursday (tonight).  John, Chris and myself will be the guest presenters next Friday’s meeting of the BAREC club’s monthly meeting.

 

It would be good to have as many WICEN members join us for this Zoon session.  Hope to see many of you tonight for our regular Zoom meetup in round 2 of lock down.

'Amateur Radio and Emergency Communications' - Friday July 17th at 7.30 pm via Zoom.

 

Bendigo Amateur Radio and Electronics Club invites you to 'Amateur Radio and Emergency Communications', a presentation by members of the Wireless Institute Civil Emergency Network.  Mark Hudson VK3MDH will provide an overview of WICEN and an insight into the future of amateur radio in emergency communications.  Mark is a specialist emergency responder dealing with dangerous goods and is currently studying a Bachelor of Emergency Management through Charles Sturt University.

 

WICEN member Chris Morley VK3CJK will also talk about 'Exercise Magpie', a community and integrated emergency communications exercise held in conjunction with Latrobe City, Baw Baw Shire, Department of Health and Human Services and WICEN.

 

John Morrisey VK3ZRX will then speak on the WICEN Special Communications Unit and the Emcomm Net HF Radio system.

 

BAREC and the WICEN team look forward to seeing you on Friday July 17th.
