WICEN Vic: Something a bit different - forthcoming training event

Hi all,

This is to give notice of a forthcoming training event.

In line with the WICEN strategy of involving Amateur Radio Clubs in our 
activities, I am organising
a joint collaboration between WICEN and The Southern Peninsula Amateur 
Radio Club (SPARC).

_*The strategy is to:*_
Further relations between AR Clubs and WICEN.
To identify club members that have an interest in using the hobby for 
greater purpose.
To prepare operators who indicate they would be available to participate 
in WICEN activities/events/activation's.
To recruit new members into WICEN.

*Date: Saturday 5 August 2023.*
Time: Time to start near Mornington at 10:00 hours.
Repeater: VK3RSP for Event HQ liaison:
                     Event HQ Callsign:  VK3BSP
                     Out - 146.675
                     In   -  147.075
                     Tone: 88.5 Hz.

*Navigation and Show & Tell:*
The event will start with a short Navigation exercise, ending at the 
Event HQ at 11:00 hours.
You will use Lat/Lon Coordinates to navigate through various 
checkpoints, collecting information along the way.
You will arrive at Event HQ and setup a field station - your choice HF 
&/or VHF &/or Data, then make contact
with other field stations and Event HQ.
Visit other field station setups - Meet, Discuss, Learn.
Visit the Event HQ and inspect.
The BBQ will be available at 12:00 hours. Snags / drinks available.
Event close: 14:00 hours or when the chatter ends!

*ALL WICEN* members are invited and encouraged to attend - participant 
OR spectator only.
Please advise by return Email or Phone of your availability to attend.
We are looking for at least 3 WICEN Field Stations - the more the merrier!
Its just 1 month away. Also, great preparation for John's Gippsland 
Rally (Middle of Everywhere Rally) 26 - 27 August 2023
