Hi all,

Many thanks to all who could attend last Thursday nights digital playground. We evaluated the monitor function on Vara HF Chat and learned quite a bit. What worked and more importantly what didn’t work. There’s been a lot of excellent discussion mostly technical between many of us discussing Winlink and digital modes. This week we’ll open the Digital Playground again on Thursday. No particular agenda at present. Yesterday with the help of Allen, VK3ARH I successfully got APRS working with SMS. Being able to send a SMS from your HT via APRS and receive a SMS on your HT from a phone is another tool in your digital tool kit.  https://smsgte.org I thought this Thursday if anyone is interested in APRS and or APRS SMSGTE then we can make it one of our many topics of discussion. I’m sure we’ll have stations on Vara HF and VHF if anyone wants to do any testing.
