WICEN Vic: Member Survey Update

To all WICEN Vic Members,

 

I thought I’d give all members another quick update with regards to the sub committees progress on the organisational review. Once again many thanks to all those members who completed the survey with just over 60% of member participation.  John, Don and myself have found your comments and feedback most helpful.

 

The subcommittee has been meeting on average 2~3 times a week averaging 2~3 hours each meeting then going away looking at specific areas of review.  We have now completed the information gathering phase and moving towards the report writing phase to complete the interim report. We did not get to speak to everyone we would have liked too despite making many attempts however we did snag one or two unexpected and very noteworthy interviews. With information gathered from members, key stakeholders, customers , emergency management practitioners and agencies where now faced with the daunting task of collating and putting our findings and recommendations into an interim report that will give the Committee of Management a roadmap and vision to drive growth, sustainability and member experience moving forward.

 

The member survey results will be circulated but our immediate focus is on the report which by our set deadline needs completing within the next 7~14 days.  Suggest we also organise one of our Thursday zoom sessions to also go through the results and discuss if that’s of benefit to members. The response from the survey to clubs was interesting mainly due to the low number of respondents. We believe some the of the WIA data may be obsolete and some clubs may not be as active as we’d expect. However we did get several good responses and several are from large clubs. All clubs have asked we speak further with them an involvement with WICEN. One club as such was EMDRC which has led to being invited to give a presentation on Friday 2nd October. A revised BAREC style presentation will be given by John, Don and myself. I’ll advise more details as their made available and encourage all of you to join in on that presentation proving support to the presenters like many of you did previously.
