RESEND: Don’t know if the one sent Tuesday got out. ☹
Team! It's on!! Weather looks good.
If you have shared this correspondence/activity with someone interested, please pass this on.
Basic directions.
1. Go to Yea at the junction of the Goulburn Valley and Melba Hwys. (You probably figured that one.)
2. Head East out of town on the GV and turn left immediately onto Killingworth rd.
3. Follow the bitumen then the graded road for approx 12km.
4. You come upon a right then left curve and on the right of the left curve will be a Green Bus stop.
5. The entrance to the property is opposite. It has 'Jarrowilpie' on the gate, Or similar. :-) The gate will be open.
6. If you are keen, Google Earth says the front gate is at approx -37.1598 lat, 145.4608 lon.
7. Enter, and follow the 'road' per the attached map. Always leave gates as you found them.
8. WATCH OUT FOR LIVE STOCK! Cattle, Sheep & Goats. It would really upset things with our host if we created some 'road kill' ;-)
9. Our host and/or family members are not expected to be up for the weekend. There may be others around using one of the other river front sites.
Major Rule: Always leave a gate as you find it.
Caution notes:
1. When entering the Owner’s weekender yard there are two trees either side with low branchs overhanging the entrance through the gate. They have been trimmed back from previous years. Doesn’t affect my 4WD but the HF antenna does hit them.
2. If there are cars parked at the ‘weekender’ please be courteous and move through slowly, give them a wave if you see them.
3. As you go through the last 'Gate' to go down to 'We are here!', watch out for fencing wire.
Remember, it is a deployment activity so you need to be as independent/self-sufficient as possible. Having said that, I will be setting up a toilet facility and a communal area.
We will have a communal BBQ & a sherbet, or two (or three) on Friday & Saturday night.
For those that may want to play HF full time – There is a HUGE paddock to set up in if you wish, lots of tall trees.
I will be setting up Friday morning first thing, so if anybody wants to show on Friday 2nd, no problem.
Although the ‘theme’ for the weekend is 160m antennas, this is a play weekend. Nothing is scripted or structured. If you want to field test something or have it tested, antennas, launchers, data from the field, this is your opportunity. If you simply want to show off something – good oh. We have even done UHF polar plotting, albeit the hard way, in the paddock…;-)
Bring a rod++ if you are into fishing. Rumour has it there are fish in the Goulburn River.
The weather will be warm so a swim may be in order. 😉
I look forward to seeing as many as possible.
Regards,
Ian
