There were eight stations called into the net last night on 3600KHz. There was quite an amount of band noise around and some QSB reported by some stations.
Those in the net tonight were John 3BAF, Peter 3YG, David 3VP, John 3ZRX, Paul 3DPW, Mark 3FPTO, David 3XDM/t [Hobart] and George 4GSF ( Nambour Qld} dropping in.
John 3ZRX apologized that there wasn’t a report of last weeks net as when he went to conduct the net 3600 was busy and he moved to 3603 and called but there was no response from anyone. After waiting a reasonable time he closed down. This would be a good time to review procedures if we find a frequency in use by someone else. You can always come up and explain that a net is about to start and ask if they would mind shifting frequency a little OR the NCS may choose to open the net close but far enough away to not cause interference. Sub stations should always be advised to tune around the nominated frequency in case the net has moved slightly. For years this rule has said “move up in freq” if there is QRM on designated one.

John also delivered a report to MEMC for Latrobe city on Exercise Alpha recently and it was accepted with great interest. Paul 3 DPW reported he is still to catch up on missed activities after returning from his overseas trip to the USA and Hong Kong, Malaysia.
The Mallee Rally is on the WE 10 June and 3YYF is still interested to hear from any one who can assist . 03 9753 2184 AND
Sun 6 August the Rainbow Desert Enduro is on in the Rainbow desert area. If available to help cplease contact Ross VK3SF on 03 9736 4020.

The NCS for next weeks net will be Ken Allan VK3ALA
