WICEN Vic: Alpine Car Rally

Hello All,

 

I apologise if you end up with more than one copy of this as I am using the
WICEN List and the Alpine list from last time.

 

It is that time again for the Alpine Car Rally.

 

Once again it is being run in the East Gippsland Region based in Lakes
Entrance.

It will be taking in the forests from North of Bairnsdale to Cann River in
the East.

 

The Date is from Saturday the 2nd Dec 2017 to Sunday the 3rd Dec 2017.

(There are 2 stages on the afternoon of Friday the 1st Dec that we aren't
required for, but if you are in the area, you would be welcome to spectate)

 

There will be controls available for:

Saturday Morning, Afternoon and/or Evening.

Sunday Morning or Afternoon

 

This year we won't be required for Scoring or Tracking as our role will be
as an overall safety net for the organisers.

 

If you think you would be available please let me know along with your:

*         preferred times.

*         HF and/or  (VHF voice only this year)

*         Gravel roads yes/no

*         Camping on site/bush

 

Of particular interest is the possibility of trying 160 Metres SSB if we can
get enough people with suitable portable antennas.

This is due to the fact that one of the Saturday daylight stages is going to
be next to impossible to cover the whole stage with repeaters. An end to end
HF network would be an advantage if we can get six (6) 160 Metre operators.
80 Metre daylight NVIS operation has been extremely poor and shows no sign
of improving.
