The biggest impediment for the net for me is not technological, but one
of scheduling.  Evening voice traffic of any form doesn't fit in well
domestically - anyone who phones will be informed of this as well, and
given a suggestion to use email or some other text medium, or at worst,
call during the day.  In the summer months, I'm sometimes not even
around at net time.  Because of how our household works, that's the
situation, and I already cause enough disruptions as it is at certain
times of the year, so need to keep the brownie points topped up. :)

I must work on the 80m antenna issue, needs a bit more thought, have a
couple of ideas.
