Just to confirm I'm in!  (You already knew that). 

 

Repeater as usual. 

 

I'll twist Lloyd's arm, too.  

 

If we are stuck for repeaters I also have a nice Unilab running on 70cm.  It
goes very well. 

 

Speaking of getting stuck, I hope to avoid last year's effort!!!!!

 

Still not sure what caused the problems with the Aberfeldy 6m box last
weekend - Ralph thinks there are still problems with the power supply.  It
suffered a major meltdown a few weeks ago (literally) so may still have some
problems.   It was just fortunate Dirk asked me to set up the repeater so he
could run F-calls on 2m, and I happened to be in a good spot for the whole
event.

Subject: WICEN Vic: East Gippsland Stages Car Rally call for operators

 

We are planning to be involved in the running of this closed road special
stage event again this year.

The event is round 3 of the Victorian Rally Championship.

The duties will involve tracking of competitors and providing a backup for
organisers communication in the event of a logistical or emergency
situation.

The event is to be run in the forests to the North of Lindenow near
Bairnsdale during the afternoon and evening of Saturday the 30th of May
2015.

At this stage communications will be on 2 metres FM using 2 portable
repeaters.

We will need operators in the afternoon and evening.

Radio Amateurs who would be interested in participating or would like more
information are asked to contact me via Email or telephone.

We will have positions for all levels of experience and if anyone would like
to come and just see what this form of our hobby is all about we can pair
you up with another amateur to gain experience.

Those who have already contacted me about helping this year need not reply.
