WICEN   Weekly net Tuesday 22 October 2013 on  3600KHz.

The net commenced at 2130 hrs with the following stations logging in.

VK3's  3ZRX,  3YG, 3KMG, 3GER, 3DPW, 3IFM, 3XD, 3SP.  VK3HCJ WAS CHECK IN ONLY.

The frequency was fairly noisy at this end  but most stations were quite readable above the crashes.

Control will be based at Lardner park while mobiles in teh Powell town Noojee area.

Alpine rally starts on Fri 29Nov but WICEN only needed on the 2days. Local control at ORBOST on Sat and at FORREST-TECH on Sunday. Chris Morley still looking for some operators.  

Gerard VK3GER reported the mini marathon ;last week went well with 14 people as ops from BARHAM to ECHUCA.  Voice and TRac were used with a HF link to Melb. 

Ian VK3IFM also reported on the mini marathon said that all went well although his Packet had some problems but OK now that he has cleared the fault which was a conflicting setting in his laptop.  

A message from Mark VK3ZR was read concerning activation for WICEN in NSW fires. No call for assistance from Victoria yet but advised to maintain standby conditions. 

All members should monitor their emails for ongoing status.

Net closed at 2155 and next weeks NCS is Gerard VK3GER.
